Step 4 - Setup PopAds in BeMob

Setup PopAds in BeMob

There are 3 things we will need to setup in BeMob before we create our campaign:

1. Traffic source
2. Affiliate network
3. Offer

Setting all 3 of these up is pretty easy and I am going to walk you through the process. We will start with the Traffic source (PopAds).

Login to your BeMob account and click on Traffic sources in the menu at the top:

BeMob has tons of different Traffic Source Templates that essentially pre-fill the form in the setup process to make things even easier for you and I. PopAds is one of the traffic sources that has a template so this setup is very simple.

Click on New from template:

And then search for PopAds. Click on PopAds and the create traffic source form will open with everything we need filled in.

There is 1 thing we will change about this later, but for now, this is fine and ready to go! Click Save and BeMob will add PopAds to your tracker.

I just want to clarify some points concerning the postback URL in the PopAds template on the side of BeMob.
As you can see, the preconfigured postback URL is

http://serve.popads.net/cpixel.php?s2s=1&aid=REPLACE&id={externalId}&value={payout}​

This URL contains BeMob dedicated tokens such as {externalId} and {payout} to pass the conversion IDs and payout value (how much you earn for a conversion) from BeMob to PopAds.
These tokens should be obligatory added at the end of postback URL on the side of BeMob, otherwise the tracker will not be able to forward the conversions data to your traffic source.

You can also see the part 's2s=1&aid=REPLACE&id=' which is the same for all PopAds users excepting 'aid' value.
aid is basically your advertiser ID which is assigned individually to each PopAds account.
It is required to copy your aid from PopAds and specify this value in postback URL in BeMob.

So these are your PopAds settings on the side of BeMob:

IMPORTANT NOTE: Before you press Save button and move on to other settings, make sure Approved is ticked.

So the quick summary of PopAds settings with BeMob:
1) Traffic Sources -> New From Template.
2) Select PopAds.
3) Place your dedicated AID value from PopAds in the postback URL.
4) Make sure Approved is selected.
5) Press Save button to store the traffic source settings.

But I decided not to delete it because this is one of the most commonly asked questions especially for those users who are just started to work with a tracker.

There is one more param that we can and should add to the setting and that is the Category name, which will be very useful for the optimization process.

Caution: If your campaign is currently running on Popads, You will need to update your existing campaign URL on Popads (or create a new one) after you have added and saved the "Category Name" in Bemob, which will result in your campaign goes under review once again, which could take several hours

Basically each time you introduce changes in Parameters section of your traffic source settings, the Campaign URL changes.
All the tokens you specify in traffic source settings will be automatically added at the end of the Campaign URL as soon as you select this traffic source in your Campaign settings.

We have added the Category Name token + parameter in the PopAds template on BeMob side so you will have no need to specify it manually.
To receive the updated campaign link:

1) Select the campaign you are running with PopAds

2) Click Campaign Links

3) Copy Campaign URL

4) Place the link on the side of PopAds

yeah, I noticed that the name was missing from the template, but you can also search the ID # when doing your optimizations in PopAds.

You can right click the row you just created and choose edit - mine was "pre checked" or it was checked once I hit edit.

Yeah, the steps would be the same. The only difference is the offer you add.
