Step 14 - Success / Failure Stories

Partners.House
Followed the guide and happy with what I have so far. Not profit-making yet but I'm very thankful for this guide because it has given me some clarity on what to test and optimize.

I'm running to Evadav instead of MOBIPIUM because my MOBIPIUM account isn't approved yet. Evadav got me in immediately and I had both publisher and advertiser managers contacting me within an hour. Efficiency! (y)

First $5 run:

Wasn't expecting to see so many green zones to be honest! Overall -73% ROI but happy for a sea of green (at least for page 1 of countries, lol). Since I had about 13 countries in the green I decided to remove all other countries and go to the next round with these 13.

Second $5 run:

A sea of red now - but I had one timing where I was profitable! My overall ROI for this run was also only -19%, so I'm on the right track.

I was curious however about whether I had ruled out too many countries too early. I had originally planned to run this second test with countries that had an ROI above average, but had gone with only running countries in the green from the first time.

To satisfy my curiosity I decided to add back another 13 countries that had above average ROI from the first run and add more offers to test. Originally I was testing 5 offers and expanded this to 11. I also dropped one offer that was underperforming in the first round and cut some website IDs that had already gathered a few hundred visits with ROI clearly below average.

ROI will probably drop, but I wanted to see how these countries and offers would do.

3rd $5 run:

Well as expected, I was in the red again of -70% ROI.

I filtered for my data from all 3 runs, and picked off the above average countries for the next round.

There were some countries that made it into this list that weren't in my list for the 2nd round, so that tells me this wasn't an entirely wasted run.

There were also more countries that smashed it in the 1st run that were proving to be loss making. Seems like their performance in the 1st run was either a fluke, or perhaps it had to do with the time of day. However the aim is to find countries that consistently do well, so I'm perfectly happy to drop these countries.

My 4th $5 run is still going, but it's looking like a -55% ROI for now. I suspect this may be due to the offers as I added a lot more in the previous round, so that may be what I optimize next.

Question:
How is everyone analysing their stats if they're running a few rounds per day? Even if you filter by hour of day, if your traffic runs over a couple of hours, that's still a few screens to work through?

I'm extracting the data into excel and grouping them so I can see the stats for a single round, but it would be great if there is an easier way to do this in Bemob.

Try ClickDealer
Oh, that means the case is hopeless. Is it because it's all red? Can you tell me the reason? Would like to learn
Yes, because it's all red and there doesn't seem to be a lot of potential. This guide is specifically for learning purposes. Learn the setup. Learn how to run a campaign. Learn how to analyze. I would say from your analysis that it's time to test a new offer :)

First, nice analysis and I am happy you are going through and doing extra testing with your own hypothesis. That's awesome.

As for doing multiple rounds per day, the way I did it in BeMob was with the hours. Some trackers make this easier than others. With BeMob, one way you can do it is to basically "duplicate" your path (it seems there's no way to duplicate it so you just create a new one with the same offers, but @BeMob should make it so a Path can be Duplicated/Cloned):

Then, add the offers that you want to test to the second path. You can turn off the original path. Then, in Flows, you will only see the stats for Path 2 from your new test.

I have not tested this myself specifically in BeMob, but I do this with other trackers (Landingtrack and Voluum) and it works fine 👍

Great, thanks Luke. I am going to try this.

Is this a common thing across all trackers where you'll have to set up separate paths to group data for a single run?

No optimizations on the first day

The next day, I optimized these good performances countries, deleted the Global-Push_Smart_5.

The third time, I kept only Colombia, Peru and Ecuador. Then I export the transformed Website ID through excel and add it to Website Targeting in PopAds. Decreased the Bid to 0.00021.
It was good at first.

Then I made the bid to 0.00033.

Although the conversions are good, AP is getting worse.
Finally, this is the result of my campaign. Thanks for the guide make me learned a lot.

The AP issue is the biggest problem with this. I highly recommend looking at new offers to promote with static payouts once you get the feel for how the process should be :)

What a great course for newbie like me. Thank you very much @Luke

My first $5

second $5

I have basic knowledge of push notification and have to try more to get my $

OK, well that was pretty entertaining!!!

Went through the process, of course my first $5 wasn't profitable. Went through and optimized a bit, and my second $5
wasn't completely profitable, but was better. Did it again, and spent another $5. Optimize again, and now I'm in pure
profit with my next $5, all up until the last 2 hours and it all goes completely south from there!!!

So, I don't know if they changed up the ads on me or what, but the campaign was completely in profit up to the last
2 hours, and then it went negative by $0.31 in the 8th hour, then $0.37 in the last hour!! When I went to bed I was $2.59
in profit, and when I got up I was only at $1.91 in profit. So, at least I ended in some kind of profit, but the last two hours
is a bit confusing.

Patrick

congrats @patrickonb on first profit. it will be different according to geos and time frame , look for the data of the whole day and according to it optimize, if you needed dayparting ( according to many days data ) you can optimize your campagin accroding to it

Check the payout you are getting on the conversions. You can see this in your Conversions report on the campaign. MOBIPIUM will decrease your payout if the traffic is not profitable for them. I would rotate in a CPA offer from EvaDav to see if you can maintain your profit :)

Following the course, these are my results:

my first $5

I see Bemob isn't taking all my conversions.

my second $5

I see again that BeMob doesn't show me correctly neither conversions nor visits, possibly a mistake in my configuration?

I will update with the next $, I have a question, I will run out of 100000 events with BeMob soon, do you recommend me to extend my subscription, or maybe another tracker?

Excuse my English, I'm using deepl

congrats on your first steps,. Keep going you are still in the first steps on your learning curve :)

you can keep with their 50$ promo to test . you still have alot to know about tracking before moving to the next one.
also there is @Kintura with 1000000 Event . free plan,
Also there some guide how to host self host free trackers , here on afflift :)
but still on my Advice to keep with bemob till finishing your promo code at least you could know more about tracking before moving to another one ( start anther Learning curve with more variables)

I added some more $ to the test, of the 5 initial offers I left only 2 and I filtered also for two countries.

Today is green and the overall campaign is improving. What still concerns me is the configuration.

Is it normal that BeMob shows less conversions and visits, I think I did the configuration well and to improve I want to know what I'm doing wrong.

The two chosen countries don't have much more traffic on PopAds if I raise the bidding they stop being profitable, do you recommend me to climb to another traffic source? Or maybe they don't make much sense in this kind of test.

Check time zone for both tracker and mobipium you can adjust both to be the same
Or run your report for the whole week/days of your campaign and check..

check inventory
and if they havent enough unique volume Check your EPV on bemob.
and according to it you can increase your bid .. to the maximum profitbale Combination ( maximum bid, that get you most profitable traffic)
after you reach that , Instead of looking fot anther traffic source ( in this stage) go for another country .

The idea of all this to master what you Do , not getting A big profit. Scalling with smartlink is some kinda hard. so master it and look of scaling profit later :)

Okay, I will. I'll show you later how I did.

It's normal for visits to be lower (check this article). Your conversions should not be that much lower so my thought is maybe one of your offers is not tracking ClickID properly?
