This contest came just in time as my account manager in Mobipium reached out to me to test some of their top offers.

Affiliate Network: Mobipium
Tracker: Bemob
Offer: Carrier Billing

This is a carrier billing offer and I'll be using SelfAdvertiser's optimizer (which I have never used before). I have always relied on my own (manual) optimization, but since this is a low paying offer, I'm sure it'll take me a long while to optimize my campaign, so might as well give that a try.

I’m testing this direct-link. Once I see potential, I plan on using a lander.

Here’s my campaign optimization set-up in SelfAdvertiser.

As you can see, the CPA goal I placed is just $0.20, which is 80% of the actual payout. All other bids are recommended by SelfAdvertiser.

I used RON traffic, then narrowed down to mobile device and then chose the specific carriers accepted for this offer.

I made sure the frequency cap is set to 1 every 24 hours.

Budget is at $5 per day.

My only problem is the Postback verification:

So I am using Bemob and I have already setup SelfAdvertiser as a traffic source in the past using Bemob’s template. I haven’t had any issues tracking my traffic from this source, though I’ve never tried SelfAdvertiser’s optimizer before.

They provided a postback URL for this specific campaign, but I’m at a loss about where to add this URL, I already have SelfAdvertiser’s default postback URL for the entire traffic source:

http://clkpback3.com/adServe/ssapixel?subid={externalId}&price={payout}

Should I remove this and add the new postback URL provided?
If so, wouldn’t that screw up other SA campaigns, if I decide to use their optimizer on a different campaign?

I’m not sure who to ask, whether @BeMob or @SelfAdvertiser, so if anyone can answer, please do.

In any case, I have submitted the campaign for review.

Fingers crossed!

@jairene are you using the postback URL that's in the BeMob template? The one in my dashboard is a bit different (include "ref"). I've just spoken with SelfAdvertiser and they've said the ref is required, so you might copy the postback straight out of your SelfAdvertiser dashboard and see if that works.

It should look something like this (by default without tracker tokens replaced/added):

https://clkpback3.com/tracks/ssapixel?subid={click-id}&ref=bcf2f4654654650fd812fa5df41d38b3ff0bc

Copy the postback from your own account as the one above won’t work for anyone...

Hi jairene!

Yes, please update the postback URL to the one provided o your campaign setup page (with the ref included),

http://clkpback3.com/adServe/ssapixel?subid={externalId}&price={payout}

Please make sure you have the correct macro in place for the subid value and price value- as I see it on Bemob link its "subid={externalId}&price={payout} "

You don't have to worry about other nonoptimizer campaigns, postback URL is the same for optimizer and no optimizer campaign.

Let me know if you have any questions

Gal

Hi Nick, you have indeed provided the correct postback URL, thank you.

We would like to stress that "ref" parameter is individual(!) , optional and not mandatory, this parameter helps us troubleshoot pixels in cases an advertiser encounters a technical problem. We then can mitigate and help with implementation guidelines using this parameter (which is account-specific, not campaign-specific). Meaning, each advertiser has only 1 ref value of his own that we recommend for his use always when firing pixels.

Yes, I copied that exact postback URL and applied it to a SelfAdvertiser template in Bemob. Thank you!

So it applies to all optimizer campaigns, even if I have multiple campaigns with the optimizer enabled?
It's like on a per account basis, I presume?

Indeed, the link is the same for all campaigns, including Optimizer ones.
Please note that "ref" parameter value is an individual property per advertiser, and you should use your own value for it, not the one provided by Nick.
(You have it on the campaign setup page, in the postback URL section)

I know. What I mean when I said I copied that exact link is the link that looks exactly like that from my campaign LOL.

Anyway, let's see how this goes!

Hi,
Actually we have always had the following postback URL in the template: http://clkpback3.com/adServe/ssapixel?subid={externalId}&price={payout}
I added '&ref=REPLACE' part to make sure this part is completed by those users who work with SelfAdvertiser
In case the ref can be ignored, a user can simply delete it from the postback URL on the side of BeMob.

I attach the screenshot of the SelfAdvertiser template on the side of BeMob. It will be great if the representative of SelfAdvertiser can have a look to confirm that our template is set up correctly.

@BeMob that template is wrong, that is what @Luke has been trying to tell you, Look:

Bemob's SA's postback template: "http://clkpback3.com/adServe/ssapixel?subid={externalId}&price={payout} "
Actual new postback of SA: "https://clkpback3.com/tracks/ssapixel?subid={externalId}&ref=blablablablablablabala "

See the difference?!?

Yeah, your postback actually matches what I am using in Voluum too. Seems like either /adServe/ or /tracks/ should work.

Thank you everyone for your feedback.

Thanks @BeMob for updating your template. This will surely help other users as well..
And thank you @SelfAdvertiser for answering my question quickly.

I'm glad to report that my account is now tracking my conversions.

I'd like to mention that I created two SelfAdvertiser traffic sources in Bemob: one showing the referral ID and one that uses the old template (with the payout token at the end). Both actually worked fine. So the two campaigns you are seeing above, both with conversions, have fired the postback.

I did notice, however, that there is a slight delay for conversions to show up in SelfAdvertiser. I'm not sure how many hours though since I don't check every few hours.

It seems like there's a 1-hour delay in the stats, not only for conversions but also on ad spend and traffic. But as long as you can see everything in your tracker and you're posting back your data it should be alright :)
