Step 12 - Optimized Results

RollerAds

Yes, but it may be harder to view the results of your optimization unless you know when exactly you made the changes.

I am having a huge problem and I don't know what to do. I optimized to the countries and websites IDs which were profitable yesterday but today it is very unprofitable, What should I do?

Optimize the offers.

What

Optimize the offers.

I tried to but like it wasn't becoming profitable for some reason, I don't understand what I could be doing wrong, I targeted all the profitable GEOs from yesterday and it's literally still not profitable. Maybe start from the beginning?

Same thing on my side. I got pretty good (not too narrow) targeting. And on the next day it's all -70 to -90 ROI, pretty much like I was starting from scratch.
I am ok about that, since it's a test scheme for education. But interesting to know more about it anyway.
Such schemes (smartlink + pops) should be started from scratch everyday? Or maybe all the AffLift runs it now, so we oversaturated the PopAds with these PNs? 🙃

Once again, big thanks for the course, I learned really a lot!

Did the payout on the offers change at all? Check the AP (average payout) for each country and compare them to the day before. Posting screenshots of your stats would definitely help access any issues.

I don't expect these campaigns to be overly profitable. Right now, you're competing with ~100 other advertisers promoting the same offers on the same traffic source (every who is using this course). The idea is to learn how to do the analysis and optimizations :)

Yeah, I would assume a big part of it is that there is an influx of advertisers promoting the same thing. But, you should be able to review your stats in BeMob and try to figure out why your ROI is dipping. A few things to consider (this applies to you too, @LD2201):
  • Did the conversion rate on the offers you are promoting decrease?
  • Did the payout on the offers decrease?
  • Did the cost (CPV) somehow go up?
There will always be a reason your ROI decreased. One of the goals of this course is that you learn how to analyze your stats to find out.

Thanks a lot, Luke!

Will check out the stats and see what I could get out of it.

Does Offers from max bounty like email submits, surveys, and sweepstakes work well with PopAds?

It's worth a shot 👍

Hi, Everybody,

How do you run a campaign on PopAds for 24 hours with small budget like $10 per day?
You would need to really optimize it. If you are only running pops on a few WebsiteIDs, it could spend that much per day potentially. However, why would you want to limit your potential spend to only $10/day?

Hi @Luke!
Are you still running this campaign? If so, what's the status as of today? Profitable? Did you scale it? :)

No, I am not. I paused it once I launched the course so you all weren't competing with me and I wasn't competing with you. Seemed fair. I may restart it soon though with a larger budget :D

Hi Luke!, I add 11 sites ids , that get me the most conversions for Italy , but the Traffic Estimator: is
  • We have no traffic with your options.
shuld i just wait , or should i disable the website targeting , so i can get the traffic from all the sites ids ?

Thanks

You are white listing , with too few range , wait till you getmore conversions to start whitelisting, otherwise black listing other unprofitable with x payout IDs

Akahma has a great point and I've definitely fallen into the trap of whitlisting too soon sometimes, but it might also be worth testing the campaign anyway because that's the only way you'll find out.

I just took this screenshot to show you that Popads is saying the same thing to me right now about a campaign I've been running since the weekend:

But here are my stats for the last three days:

So "we have no traffic" is really misleading because I'm getting plenty.

The thing about the Popads traffic estimator is that it seems to be based on traffic sales data (as explained on the Inventory page, per screenshot below):

What this seems to mean is that if you create a very targeted campaign then Popads might have no other advertisers with the same highly targeted settings, so they have no data to refer to in order to predict the traffic you could receive. This could mean there is no traffic, but it might also mean you're literally the only advertiser targeting the specific combination of settings.

That's an advantage to any one :) Jimmy , but this will happen when white listing depends on a good number of conversions

If you want to see some green for this campaign, I would recommend going ahead and setting up the website targeting even though that's what PopAds is telling you. You could setup a copy of your current campaign (duplicate it) for those 11 sites and see how it goes :)

So mean 1 campaing for each of those 11 sites? And how much budget will be ok for every campaing :)
