Hi everyone, I’d like to ask if anyone here is making money with YouTube Shorts?


Here’s my situation:
I mainly use AI tools (such as AI video generation, AI editing, AI voiceover, etc.) to produce Shorts content.
My goal is to earn through YouTube Shorts ad revenue (YouTube Partner Program) or to drive traffic to affiliate marketing, e-commerce, or other income sources.


Recently, I’ve been thinking about this question:
I’m considering running banner ads (such as Meta Ads, Google Ads, or display ads) to help boost my Shorts’ views, reach, and exposure.
The idea is to make YouTube’s algorithm think my videos are popular, so it will recommend them to more people.


I’d love to ask people with experience:
Does this method actually work? Can it really influence YouTube’s reach algorithm?
Has anyone here actually tried this? What were your results?
If it works, what should I pay attention to? (For example: ad audience targeting, budget, video quality, channel positioning, etc.)
Could it backfire? For example: will YouTube detect “paid traffic” and possibly throttle my reach?
