So recently I tested some offers of India and Indonesia on PropellerAds.
I added some setTimeout script to test if my landing page was viewed.
The script fires a PageView event after 3 seconds, and then after 10/20/30 seconds.
I thought this would detect fake traffic, after all, only browsers can trigger setTimeout functions.
But I didn't expect that although some placements had very high page view rates (more than 90%), there were no link clicks at all.
This means that these traffic were probably fake. I guess they use headless browsers to open the page, and they will wait for the page for at least 30 seconds.
This is ridiculous, I never though fake traffic could be like this.
Now I have to find another way to detect fake traffic.
