PeerFly has Shut Down

Agree that the fold up of a seemingly well managed outfit like peerfly is unnerving as to the future of the affiliate marketing model. I would like to hear more arguments as to why this is not the case.

I went into pretty good detail here on my opinion on that, but I would obviously be interested in hearing others opinions as well.

Want proof? Start marketing your affLIFT referral link and I'll pay you whatever you want whenever you want for new paying members lol :)

@Luke, if you were on the affliliate side of that statement, what would be your go-to-first method for doing so? (Seems like AffLift is a pretty strong bet, regardless of industry trends good & bad.)

I have been pretty open about the fact that our biggest and best traffic channel has been SEO. Search engine traffic converts well for affLIFT because of the user intent. When affiliate are searching for something on Google related to affiliate marketing, they are doing research. They are wanting to learn more about keyword. So, if they land on an Article or a listing from our Link Directory that talks about the thing they are researching, they tend to sign up and 10-15% of those who sign up end up converting within about 30 days.

So, my recommendation would be to create a blog and write about things affiliates need help with while linking them to affLIFT resources, threads, etc with your referral link. Anyone that signs up under your referral link is your referral for life.

If you want to take this to the next level, sign up for AWeber or ConvertKit and start building an email list from the people landing on your blog. Create an email sequence that references blog posts you've written that are converting well or threads here on affLIFT that have a lot of traction (check the Public section). Email traffic is now converting about as well as SEO for me here on affLIFT because I've paid close attention to what works and optimized :)

@ChrisBa is already doing some of this with his blog and I'm paying him referral commissions pretty steadily (hope you don't mind me saying that, Chris).

This strategy is similar to what I did to build my LukePeerFly blog. All I did was take things that my publishers were asking about a lot or trends I saw in the industry and wrote about them. I was not paid for my PeerFly referrals (it was an employee policy), but my blog generated more than 10,000 publishers referrals for PeerFly and over a thousand client referrals. Being an employee of PeerFly gave me very little leverage. I did all the work on the side, built my list mostly organically, and grew my following through it.

You can do the same thing.

Want more proof this works? You probably wouldn't be here on affLIFT if I hadn't done it lol

Sad to see it go after just getting approved to the network. Wish you all the best moving forward.

Hi Luke,

Sorry to see PeerFly go. I've had great fun running Agoda and Booking there (though I don't make millions).

Speaking of Booking, I still have "pending" payments from Booking in PeerFly since last year. It is not visible in the new platform, but I have a screenshot from the old platform. Are they as good as gone?

Same. I have about 2.5k pending from last year.

Appreciate the shout out.

Ironically when I started my site/blog, I had a certain idea in mind, it was more towards a type of Q&A site than blog. My main goal was to answer questions that I normally answer on forums (paid and public). The idea in my head at the time was that if someone was asking on a forum (or facebook page or group or where ever) then chances are more than 1 person was likely interested in the answer and hopefully then others would be "googling" the answer.

Since then my site/blog has kind of grown into a mashup of various things. I think I really need to get defined and back on track. I also recently took a little break from many things (I won't go into details right now, but it was more than just AM), but I am trying to get myself back in the game so to speak.

But anyways, to the point. What Luke mentions does work. Although my site (affchris.com - sorry, shameless plug) hasn't really been fully kept up to date, i still receive a fair bit of organic traffic. Looking at the public stats on similarweb, 66% of my traffic is SEO. For me, this is great.

This does work, it does take effort getting the site setup and articles written and some research, but I find it's a great way to do things.

I still have not been paid yet and have a couple of thousand owing.

Has everyone else been paid?

I got paid for July'19 from PeerFly.

I’m no longer employed by PeerFly so I really can’t help. I know that PeerFly has no money and any money that comes in (payments owed by clients) is being paid out.

I got paid by Peerfly, surprisingly. Thank you Peerfly.
I thought I'd lose all my earnings like what AboveAllOffers did to me.
Really disappointed with AAO folks. They are not to be trusted anymore.
