Follow Along All The Details From My 1st Bing Ads + PeerFly + SearchWrench Campaign

Drew, with only one conversion, reducing the bids for mobile might not be the best way forward. You're getting the majority of the clicks from mobile and there's no reason why people would buy from their desktop rather than their cell phone unless the mobile version of the website or your ad makes it difficult to navigate/is unappealing. I would look at the CTR of each keyword and perhaps increase the bid on those keywords that have the higher CTR. What position are your ads/keywords and what is the quality score? These factors should also influence your bidding. Just my two cents.
I actually recommended him reducing the bid for mobile. It is a majority of his clicks, but he can always setup a separate campaign for mobile specifically if he wants to scale across device types. I donā€™t see the harm in focusing on desktop considering thatā€™s what heā€™s seen the best result with so far. Yeah, itā€™s a limited amount of data and mobile could explode, but I would support the decision at this stage either way.

Somewhat related: Iā€™ve actually stopped advertising affLIFT to mobile devices with my paid advertising. While a good chunk of our members do use mobile phones to consume our content, a majority of our conversions actually occur on desktop. Interesting to find this data šŸ˜€

That's fair enough, Luke. As it's a PeerFly offer, you're definitely in a better position than me to comment on what devices convert best with the offer. I was looking at it from an outsider's point of view and, on that basis, didn't feel there was sufficient data to dump mobile traffic at this stage.

Interesting to hear the same applies to affLIFT too.

given the demographic that uses bing primarily, desktop traffic is often converting better than mobile. I would also recommend splitting desktop and mobile as those "decrease/increase" bid adjustments are simply too troublesome to think about it all the time. You increase the bid for desktop and then need to lower the "decrease by" percentage for mobile etc. - just make two campaigns.
Bing has it's own "audience insight" here.

UPDATE: after letting these changes simmer a little... as expected when cutting mobile bid the traffic was decreased significantly, but the CPC was cut almost in half.

Keywords with clicks "Quality Scores" are mostly 8/10... so I am going to increase the bid to $0.80 on those keywords that have received impressions and 6+ quality scores.

Drew, glad to see youā€™ve managed to reduce your CPC. If you havenā€™t already done so, remove keywords that have had many impressions but few or zero clicks. This will dramatically increase your CTR, which will further reduce your CPC.

Another thing that you can do is run a keyword report and look at the number of impressions you are getting on the Audience Network as opposed to search. I did that for one of my campaigns a few days ago and found a single keyword that was responsible for a large number of impressions on the Audience Network but had zero clicks. After pausing it, my CTR and ad position have improved considerably, with the added benefit of improved ad relevance.

Yeah, I'm going to work on getting SSL added and see how we could do custom domains. I haven't had much time to work on SearchWrench over the past few weeks.
Is there any update on when you think the SSL and custom domains will be done?

No, but I am planning to get a few hours of dev work in on SearchWrench tomorrow. It got it's first paying customer this weekend so I feel like it's time to try to get out of beta :)

UPDATE: So got my second conversion on this campaign :) Still negative on ROI, but at this point am only running the keyword that gave the last conversion... all others have been paused. I am going to let this 1 converting keyword run for a while and see how it does.

Below are the stats for the campaign (total) & the converting keyword.

With an average CPC of $0.72 and a payout of $11, you need to have a conversion every 15 clicks or less for positive ROI. So if the 6 clicks and 174 impressions are for this one converting keyword over the 19-day period you've been running this campaign, then you will eventually get into positive ROI territory. But it may take a while with only 9 (174/19) impressions a day. So if it were my ad, I would increase the bid substantially to get the ad as high as possible. Get it to #1 position and the impressions should increase dramatically. Have you checked with the Keyword Planner to see what the search volume is?

Dear Luke,
I have registered with SearchWrench but I don't know how to get started with it. I want to test it with BingAds Traffic. Recently, I promote PeerFly offers using my landing page.

#NOTE: In These Three Spaces Below What Do I Need To PUT? May you tell me?

Keyword = This is just used for you to recognize / track your links and possibly give your Ad some congruency as this keyword URL is in your Ad

URL= yes, your PeerFly tracking URL from your offer (or landing page url if hosted elsewhere)

Title = Just something to give your page more congruency with the Ad. Use keywords from your Ads to make a good title to let people who click on your ad that they are in the right place

Thanks, Drew. BUT I still wonder does the keyword I write by my own self or do I copy the tracking link that I created in Bemob in out there? URL: Do I put the tracking link that I created in Bemob too? Title: I understand I can write the words that associated with my Ad.

You do not need to use BeMob with SearchWrench. For the keyword, just choose a word relevant to the offer.
