Bitter, Cynical, Angry, Frustrated and Downright Pissed Off about How Much Time & Money I've Wasted...

When I started looking into CPA, I ran some numbers..

Make Money Online Niche 2015:
Ben Martin made 500k
Michael Chenny made 1.4m
Omar Martin made 890k
Dan Dasilva told me he made 1.3m email.

I like all these guys but its just not me.

Assuming the numbers are real;

This is gross, not counting their HUGE adspend. You also have to make your own products and video yourself 24/7! I spent $800 in soloads and got back $14.00. The email list I built sucked and the auto responder makes you delete 75% of them or double opt in. PAIN IN THE ASS!

In JVZOO, you can find total sales per product and in some contests they have leader boards. {It doesn't add up}. If you want to be a normal person, it is a minimal income.

Monetiser use to have a leaderboard and some guys were making millions on .10 payouts. I can't find it anymore, @Luke he was on it.

Corporate america will start going CPA aswell. Sell a TV with CPA. LOL

I should be running campaigns instead of typing shit.

Its actually still there but just hidden: https://app.monetizer.com/leaderboard. The heyday for Monetizer was when pop was a much bigger traffic source and smartlinks were the"newer" innovation so it fit perfectly together (back button redirects etc.)

@Scouser - welcome to the forum, think a lot of us has been in your shoes or am in your shoes. My 2 cent on this is just to find a few people that you think know what they're talking about and try to follow what they do (that's how I started) as there are like a million different ways to make money in affiliate marketing each with their pros/cons. And also try to avoid the shiny object syndrone. Every week you are on a forum you'll see someone talk about making $$ in a different vertical and a different traffic source. Tempting to try and copy what they do, but to make $$$ consistently usually requires a better understanding than your competitors and that usually comes with experience/testing and switching around doesn't help.

Thank you for the sound advice Sushiparlour. I'm scanning the forum posts and looking for people like your good self who I can learn from. I'm very aware of 'Shiny New Sh*t' syndrome as I've now termed it. I have spent 1000's on courses, ebooks, products and services etc, jumping from one thing to the next. I suppose it's some kind of rights of passage for newbie marketers - but as long as we are learning from our mistakes things can only get better. I see failures as part of the learning curve and strive to improve. I'm sure with the help of people in this forum I will begin to see some success in the near future... :)

I appreciate you taking the time out to comment!:)

I know Omar and Cheney - they're pretty slick at what they do, but as you said - it's not for me.

And about ad spends - I would like to see their figures and true profits...I know people massively inflate their earnings, and it's so simple to fake screenshots of earnings. One well known 'guru' actually gave me a link to the site he uses to fake his own earnings! (I won't mention it here but a quick search and it's easily found...). Shameful.

Anyway - back to work!

The leaderboard is still there!

Shiney New S**t is one of the pitfalls. My particular fetish is Wordpress plugins, so we're all guilty of it.

Problem is, there is actually very little out there that can give you any kind of impartial view on things. Everybody is busy cross-promoting stuff and, like novels, it seems everyone has at least one guide in them.

Like everything, online has a cost and that's time and money. You need to speculate to accumulate and unfortunately, there's just so much BS floating around.

Like any kind of investing, don't start campaigns with money you can't afford to lose. Test everything and scale what works.
