Clarification of 'Adding Custom Domains'

When an affiliate network offers a custom domain to one of its affiliate marketers, am I correct in saying that "custom domain" refers to the tracking domain (not the domain of the landing page or offer page)? (Apologies if this seems obvious - I'm receiving conflicting information and wanted to be sure.)
