One of our clients is running push traffic to a landing page for an iGaming email capture campaign.

One zone came back with a 66% conversion rate. Sounds great until you look at the list.

Random string emails. Invalid formats. Domains that don't exist.

We checked the submission IPs against AbuseIPDB. Flagged. Confirmed bots.

Our theory: the bots register to make the zone look like it's performing so the traffic source algorithm increases budget allocation there. The zone gets rewarded. The client gets a dirty list.

We're now looking at blocking submissions from IPs flagged on AbuseIPDB at the capture form level. Double opt-in helps but tanks conversion rate on legitimate traffic.

Anyone running push to email capture dealing with this? What are you checking at the point of submission to filter bots before they hit the list?
