Poor Tests

I'm new, and so far it doesn't seem like I'm making much progress. I've run three tests—campaigns on Propeller Ads using the popunder format—but all of them have been disastrous. I've promoted Golden Goose offers, but even though Propeller Ads was listed as a profitable traffic source for those offers, the results have been very poor. Should I try push traffic? Is it difficult to run a profitable campaign with popunder ads?
