Fine, let's talk about this DDoS attack...

Wednesday night at about 2am eastern, someone started a DDoS attack on affLIFT. We had a few hours of somewhat down time (the server never actually went completely down but it did make the forum inaccessible) before I woke up and realized what was happening.

I immediately turned on our Cloudflare DDoS attack protection and assumed after a few hours, whoever was doing the attack would stop.

We've had multiple DDoS attacks on affLIFT over the years...


and typically they stop after a few hours when whatever their objective is either has happened (server going down) or Cloudflare protection keeps it from happening again.

This one is a bit different.

I was trying to ignore it because I do not want to give the person the satisfaction of a post if they happen to actually read the forum, but they seem somewhat persistent.

I have put Cloudflare rules in place to make the forum easiest for non-bots to navigate. Our server CPU is running at under 3% so we should be able to continue on without any other issues being caused by the attack.
