I am big believer that your work space will help determine how productive you are. I work remote from a bunch of different locations (mostly coffee shops) with my Macbook. I also have a home office with a nice 27" monitor I can hook my Macbook up to when I want to work from home with a bigger display. I like to have a bigger display and more room for longer periods of focused work like programming.
