Google’s AI is evolving fast, and lately, we’ve seen a fresh wave of bans linked to landing page checks.


When you launch a Google Ads campaign, the system runs a multi-layer website scan using modules like:


  • Crawler (Googlebot)
  • Policy Risk Engine (Rules Engine)
  • SpamBrain & MUM (AI Content Analysis)
  • Rendering System (JS execution & user emulation)



🔍 Step 1: Googlebot visits your site​


Googlebot (or its masked versions) makes an HTTP request:


  • Headers: Standard User-Agent (Googlebot, sometimes mimicking Chrome)
  • Location: Usually US
  • No cookies, no JS-injects — clean as a typical user

What it checks:



⚠️ If cloaked JS is found in <head> or <body>, Google saves a copy for deeper analysis.




🧠 Step 2: Policy Risk Engine kicks in​


This engine checks if the site complies with Google’s policies:


  • Content visibility & readability
  • Deceptive elements: fake timers, reviews, misleading buttons
  • JS fingerprinting logic
  • Suspicious behaviors: redirects, domain swaps, content swapping
