You know how much you are spending every day, but have you ever wondered how much money traffic sources are making?
How could we calculate the revenue? We would need some numbers like number of daily (or monthly) impressions, clicks and average CPM-s or CPC-s.
That’s where traffic inventory charts come into play
For example, let’s take a look at traffic inventory at PropellerAds. Their traffic chart shows approximate data, based on yesterday's traffic activity. You can see the numbers for OnClick & Direct Click formats, as well as for Push and Interstitial. For now they don’t have numbers for In Page Push or Survey Exit format. (there is a way to check that also)
Let’s take a look at India / OnClick for example:
Yesterday they served 116 760 529 impressions. The optimal CPM rate (I guess that would be their average CPM bid) was $0.117. So for every 1000 impressions, they get $0.114 on average. In that case 1 impression is worth $0,000117 (now you see why using CPM is easier ).
If we multiply those 2 numbers and divide by 1000 (because of CPM!) we’ll get $13,660.98. They did really sell traffic worth around $13k
