I am convinced that Zeropark's automated optimization rules are being under utilized by most affiliates (including me) and that every other traffic source needs them. I want to use this thread to discuss Rules Based Optimization (RBO) and the proper way to use it.
I have been testing my RBO setup and this is what I have today to try with a fairly large budget:
Step 1: If target does not convert 1x within the payout of the offer, pause.
Step 2: If target does not convert 2x within 2x the payout of the offer, pause.
Step 3: If target has an ROI lower than 25% within 4x the payout, reduce the bid by 25%.
To make it more clear, let's use a payout of $1.00 and a starting bid of $0.004.
Step 1: If target spends $1 and has 0 conversions, pause.
Step 2: If target spends $2 and has less than 2 conversions, pause.
Step 3: If target has an ROI lower than 25% within $4, reduce the bid by 25% to $0.003.
The theory is that if a target does not get a conversion within 1x the payout, it's not going to
