Do I still need to send the conversion data back to the traffic source for Smart CPC?

If I bid using Smart CPC , do I still need to convert data back to the traffic source , I know CPA Goal mode is required to pass , but Smart CPC I'm not sure , @PropellerAds , @Roller Ads
