Follow Along PPV vs Mobipium PNSL (Rematch)

Just joking. It's all good. That thought did cross my mind for a second, but I reckon that the more of us newbies are working through it together - to get as much experience as we can with as much help as we can from the veterans on here and from each other - the better off we're all going to be.
Agreed :)

I turned it off after a couple hours because things were dying down and I was getting tired, but I just restarted it so I'm excited to see how it goes today. It definitely looked promising last night, but we'll see...
Nice. Fingers crossed ๐Ÿคž

Inching closer to $30/day with some help from ZP domain redirects :D

I've found some green geos and sources on ZP so I'm playing around with bidding to try to find the sweet spot. I've found I can bid really high because the CVR is so good, but even when I leave things alone for a while the results are really jumping around from hour to hour. I paused it for a few hours in the middle of the day yesterday so I'm going to try to leave it alone for 24 hours and see what happens...

Nice, I LOVE ZP redirect traffic :D

Hi @jimmyvanilla , awesome thread and loots of insights for newbies like me :) Thank you so much for your sharing!
Wish you good luck and wanted to ask you if any updates are available regarding your journey? :)

Good job man. Looks like you're getting it to work quite well. Have you had much of an issue with the Smart CPS and the super random swings in CPA?

I LOVE ZP redirect traffic

Yeah, now that I've been running on ZP for a couple of weeks I feel like I might be just starting to get the hang of it which is a relief after my initial disaster when I blew through $50 without even realising that I could turn off the browsers I didn't want. I know I've still got a lot to learn and have a few experiments in mind to try out soon, but a least I don't feel totally in the deep end anymore.

No worries. Starting this FA was one of the best things I've done for myself too because it's helped me to stick with it when there were a couple of moments when I might have otherwise dropped it. Between feeling kind of accountable because of this thread and because of the encouragement, help and support here on AffLIFT I think I'm now starting to get it working nicely.

Have you had much of an issue with the Smart CPS and the super random swings in CPA?

Definitely. I've been interstate for a few days for work so I just topped up the campaigns before I left and I've only checked them to make sure there were no disasters. So with the same traffic, the same bid, the same everything, one of the geos I'm targeting has gone from 0.04 up to 0.07 and back down to 0.05, which only seems like a couple of cents, but has a big impact - I mean my ROI was over 1200% yesterday when the payout was right up there. I spent $1.14 on traffic and made $13.97 profit. Crazy.

My strategy for dealing with the ups and downs has been just to bid conservatively - assuming the payout is always going to be at the low end so that at least the campaign is green - and if I happen to catch the payout rising because I'm watching it then I'll jump in and increase my bid to catch the wave until it drops again, but otherwise I just let it run and take what I can get.

In other exciting news, I hit my first $30/day yesterday...

What's really exciting to me is that yesterday also ticked over my all time 'career' stats into green territory! It took me $2.5K to get there, but I really feel like I'm getting the hang of this now and feel confident about seeing a lot more green in the future.

@jimmyvanilla , do you have any tips on which metric should be optimized first?
Because once I try cutting unprofitable Country -> Browser versions -> OS -> Bad source ids -> irrelevant site categorkes -> devices, this estimates a very small amount of traffic initially (or nothing at all!). This frustrates me a bit, as I was always thinking that it's the only thing to get into green (with such a granular targeting)

Do you do it the same way, or you test more with a higher-level limitations (eg, Country and site ids only)?

@Luke, @servandosilva what do you guys think about this?
Thanks a lot

This some kinda over optimization, you deacrease traffic too much and without traffic there is no profit , start with one and wait for data and according to data you judge , what's next..

What Akahma said:
start with one and wait for data and according to data you judge , what's next..

I try to just change one thing at a time between tests. I've mostly focussed on just dropping countries and publishers that have 0 conversions with 3x offer spend, but if a country or publisher is red but getting conversions I'll keep it around for a while unless the ratio is off the charts (I usually drop if it's worse than 10x the offer value if it's converting). Once a campaign breaks even with that process I'll then top it up so it runs for 48 hours straight without touching it again, just to see what difference a bit of time makes.

Over optimizing means you're dropping a segment of traffic that could be profitable after you drop a different (unredeemable) segment. So, for example, say you were targeting MX, CO, AR & ES and sites 1,2,3,4,5... in your first test everything is red, but CO is way off the charts and sites 4 & 5 are pretty bad. If you drop CO and sites 4/5, then you might never have found out that it was the CO traffic that was destroying sites 4/5; whereas if you only dropped CO and tested again, you would have seen these sites come good.

Haha nice! This is what affiliate dreams are made of (maybe with a few more digits ๐Ÿ˜‰). That's awesome though.

I agree with what Jimmy said ๐Ÿ‘

I'm refreshing some of my campaigns today, so I thought I'd do a bit of an update of how things have been going this last week... At the beginning of the week I pushed my bids up on a couple of campaigns and that brought some nice results with a couple of $30+ days and even a $50!!

I haven't touched anything since then and I lost a good source that stopped sending traffic, but otherwise things have been going nice and steady with only a bit of fluctuation in the conversion rate. I'm really happy with this seeing I've done zero work on anything except to top up my budgets. Hopefully the tweaks I'm making today result in pushing things back up above $30 and I might start looking for some more sources if I can find the time.

Overall this month I'm pretty close to $400 without doing a whole lot because almost all my testing was done last month.

I finished up the last month about $16 in the red, so I've well and truly covered that!

With your experience in this thread, what do you think, which traffic source has better potential - popads or zeropark?

My results are about 50/50 between the two, but they're pretty different. In my campaigns both sources have one main geo dominating the results, but it's a different geo in each source (and I haven't been able to get the big geo from one source to do much in the other source).

So I'm thinking that I might make this my last post in this FA and do a bit of a wrap up because things have changed a bit...

When I started out I had some experience promoting push offers from Mobipium and was almost ROI positive overall.

This is how things looked then:

All along, my motivation for this FA has been to learn, particularly to learn some new traffic sources and I've achieved that, exploring PopCash, Propellerads, ZP Pop and ZP Redirects - and I've had some mixed results, but overall, it's given me a lot of confidence learning new traffic sources and making them work.

And only a couple of weeks ago I was celebrating because I hit $30/day, then $50 and I also ticked over my all time 'career' stats into green territory!

And the milestones have continued this last week after I made some tweaks and tested some different Monetizer offers against my Mobipium campaigns, pretty much doubling my profit and bringing up my first ever $xxx day!!

And as a bonus I'm starting to grow a nice little stream of income from Monetizer push:

So here are the overall stats for this campaign as at today:

Offer views: 2,214,881
Conversions: 63,409
CVR: 2.86%
Rev: $2,068.45
Cost: $1,191.30
Profit: $877.16
ROI: 73.63%

From here on out I'm still planning on promoting the Mobipium PNSL, particularly as my foundation for testing more traffic sources, but I'm going to be doing a lot more testing of different offers when I find traffic segments that are really responsive .

If things get really interesting, I'll think about starting a new FA and sharing my progress, but otherwise I think I'll leave this campaign here as far as this FA is concerned (though happy to answer any questions anyone has or discuss anything else anyone thinks is interesting).

This has been a lot of fun and extremely rewarding for me and I really appreciate the support and encouragement and help everyone has given me to get here. I really didn't imagine this is where I'd be when I started this campaign. I was hoping to get to $25/day - that was the amount I thought would mean I could pay for my tracking, hosting and forum membership and still leave a enough profit to start slowly building up a war chest to go after bigger offers.

I know the results I'm achieving are a ways away from setting any records, but I couldn't be happier and more than anything, this campaign has given me the confidence to believe that I can really make this business work and achieve my really aspirational goals in the next year.

Nice follow along Jimmy. Are you running the Monetizer offers on profitable placements that you found with the Mobipium smartlink?

Jimmy, thank you for inspiration! I'm happy to hear that you managed to get into such a higher level! Hope you'll create another FA about reaching $XXXX or $XX,XXX a day!

Your thread inspired me to start testing mobipium smartlinks + popads as well! This is my first experience with affiliate marketing.
Currently it's like 5-10$/day with 1-2$ profit or loss, but I hope to test & test more to find the way to scale it! I'm using binom but I'm looking into trying some automatization solutions, like Landingtrack. What do you think about those?
Thanks

Nice follow along Jimmy. Are you running the Monetizer offers on profitable placements that you found with the Mobipium smartlink?

Thanks Nick. That's exactly what I'm doing. After running the push smartlink for a while I found some geo/publisher combos just kept converting day after day with a healthy conversion rate, so I started rotating in some other offers from Mobipium, Mobidea and Monetizer to see how they'd go and found a few good ones. The conversion rates are quite a bit lower, but the payouts are higher, so the return is better.

So far I've only managed to find better offers in 2 x geos, but it's been enough to give my profit a nice boost and now I'm going to keep testing other geos and offers. The offers I've found work well are pretty similar to the push subscription offers really - simple leadgen, sweeps, revshare and some CPIs - simple impulse conversions that work on PPV traffic, most with payouts between $0.10 - $0.25 and some sweeps for about $1.50. I'm currently just direct linking, but also plan to experiment with some LPs.

Hope you'll create another FA about reaching $XXXX or $XX,XXX a day!

When that happens, you'll be hearing from me. Guaranteed!!

Currently it's like 5-10$/day with 1-2$ profit or loss, but I hope to test & test more to find the way to scale it!

That's pretty much all I've been doing since the beginning of July - grinding away testing tiny little campaigns and then analysing and analysing and analysing, trying to understand how the data translates into profitable decisions. It's only been in the last 30 days that I feel like I've been been confident enough to scale my campaigns and I think that the results I'm getting now are only there because of the months of trial and error and persistence. Most of my profit is still just from Popads in just a handful of geos, so don't be in a rush to scale things until you're confident. I think the success I'm having at the moment is largely due to the fact that I'm starting to understand Popads so well, having spent a lot of time there in the last few months.

I'm using binom but I'm looking into trying some automatization solutions, like Landingtrack. What do you think about those?

I've never done any kind of automation, but I do follow a pretty regular pattern for what I'm doing now so I think I'm starting to appreciate how automation and optimization tools could save a lot of time when you get the hang of them.

Love the process. Love the attention to detail. Hoping to see you get this green, but either way, you're cruising down the right path in my opinion.
โ˜ this is one of the more in-depth and beautiful follow along updates we've had in this forum, @jimmyvanilla. There is no way you're not going to be success with this type of analysis. I hope the results don't prove me wrong, but I would imagine the past few days have gone a lot better for you :D

and then...

So here are the overall stats for this campaign as at today:

CVR: 2.86%
Rev: $2,068.45

I hope this thread serves as motivation for some of our other members. Use it as a guide of the attention to detail and analysis you need to be successful. I'm not talking about the offers and traffic sources. The process.

Congrats Jimmy. This will be a thread I reference A LOT in the future. I hope you're able to continue to scale and maintain your awesome ROI ๐Ÿ‘
