A common tactic many affiliates use to localize their landing page and increase the conversion rate is to use a country flag somewhere on the page. If you’re running small scale, it’s simple enough to duplicate the landing page and change the flag image, but if you’re running at scale in 100+ GEOs, that’ll be a lot of work.

In this thread, I’ll show you two different methods of how you can dynamically show the flag of the country the visitor is from.

⚠️ Quick Note: both of these methods involve pinging Cloudflare to determine the user’s location, which is fast but not instant. If you want the flag to load faster, you’d probably be better off passing the two letter country code from your tracker as a URL parameter (if your tracker supports it).


Method 1: Emoji Flag​

This first method will print an Emoji flag for the user’s country. If you have a use for a flag in a sentence, then this might be for you.
