reseller traffic networks

one of the main questions that come in my mind when I see a new traffic source (pop and/or push):

is this network re-selling from other networks or does it own the sources (fully or partially)??

how do you guys approach this? I usually tend to stay with big/top traffic networks that are offering those channels but how to avoid those "reseller" networks?
